Cancellation Policy

Effective 26 August 2026  |  Last updated 26 August 2026

1. Scope

This policy applies to one-to-one lessons, group lessons, revision sessions and other educational services booked for a specific date or time. Digital products are governed by the Refund Policy and Digital Product Delivery Policy.

2. Cancellation or rescheduling by the customer

  • At least 24 hours' notice: you may cancel or request one reschedule without a cancellation charge. Any prepaid lesson fee may be refunded or credited to a future lesson.
  • Less than 24 hours' notice: the lesson fee may be retained as a reasonable cancellation charge because the reserved teaching time may not be rebooked at short notice.
  • No-show: if the learner does not attend and no notice is given, the full lesson fee may be retained as a reasonable cancellation charge.
  • Late arrival: the lesson will normally end at the original scheduled time so that later bookings are not affected.

Any cancellation charge will be applied reasonably, taking account of the notice given, the nature of the booking, the chance of filling the slot and applicable law.

3. Death, hospitalisation and exceptional circumstances

No cancellation fee will be imposed where the learner cannot attend because of the learner's death or hospitalisation. We may ask for reasonable supporting information. We will also consider genuine emergencies and events beyond the customer's control fairly and case by case.

4. Cancellation by Khumalo Maths Academy

If we must cancel or materially change a booked lesson, we will offer a suitable replacement time. If no suitable time can be agreed, we will provide a full refund or account credit for the affected lesson.

5. How to cancel or reschedule

Send the request by email to khumalo.nathi83@gmail.com or WhatsApp to +27 73 084 1841. The notice time is measured from when the message is received. Include the learner's name and scheduled lesson date and time.

6. Packages and recurring arrangements

Where a package or monthly arrangement has additional booking rules displayed at purchase or agreed in writing, those rules also apply. They will not override mandatory consumer rights or permit an unreasonable cancellation charge.

7. Statutory rights

This policy is intended to operate consistently with section 17 of the Consumer Protection Act and any applicable cooling-off or cancellation right. Mandatory law prevails if it provides the customer with a greater right.
